Palo Santo wood is often cut into pieces and burned as an incense. Because of the resin in the wood, it is able to slow burn over a long period of time. Palo Santo wood can also be distilled into essential oil that captures the essence of this resin.
The most organic and complete method for oil extraction is vapor distillation. This method produces very potent and medicinal
Palo Santo Oil.

I am blessed to receive my Palo Santo from a small farm of the coast of Ecuador. The Palo Santo is sustainably harvested, meaning only dead wood is collected. Collection of the Palo Santo is done so with deep respect and intention. Creating ceremony around these tasks and handling the wood as a the sacred being it is, allows for the pure essence of the Palo Santo to emerge.
Palo Santo Oil contains various, naturally occuring, organic compounds- such as the terpene Limonene. Terpenes are organic compounds produced by plants and sometimes insects - think pine tree sap. They are very odorous. Limonene is the citrus smelling compound found in many species such as lemons.
Limonene has been known to aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and stress. It has anti-fungal properties and has been shown to stimulate the immune system!
